The Boissonnet Domain is a family tradition which goes back to the XVII century. The estate is home to 11 hectares of vineyards, created with love to offer fresh-flavoured St-Joseph and Condrieu.
Following the path of his grandfather, Frédéric Boissonnet takes back the family domain in 1990 and continues to build its legacy today. The XVII century estate hides a vault, discovered by chance in 1993 by his father, André Boissonnet. This well kept secret is also used today to raise the grapes in the respect of tradition.
The Boissonnet Domain perpetuates the family tradition started in the XVII century within its wine cellars. With great care, craftsmanship and a longing for quality, Frédéric Boissonnet re-launched the family activity and pays tribute to his ancestors with the cuvée Bélive.
From the old vines cultivated by grandfather Boissonnet, the locality 'Belive' has since given its name to a Saint Joseph cuvée of high acrobatics.
When looking at the landscapes between Vienne and Tain l'Hermitage, the steep slopes rivers can be seen flowing through the suspended vineyards.
A perfect harmony between water, land and sky creates the uniqueness of the region's wines. Frédéric strives to cultivate the best grapes. As he simply says : « Without good grapes, you can't make good wines ».
The red Saint Joseph is entirely made from Syrah vines, the best known variety in the region. The Syrah, rich by its quality in terms of taste and freshness, contributes to the reputation of its wines.
The Boissonnet Domain also cultivates Roussanne and Marsanne vines to produce its white Saint Joseph, giving this elegant wine the perfect equilibrium between fruity and fresh.
Finally, the Condrieu, a world-known wine made from Viognier, distinguishes itself by its sumptuousness, its mineral qualities and its large palette of fruity flavours.
Domaine Boissonnet Saint Joseph Emisphere 2019 is the result of a blend of two, particularly distinct and complementary terroirs. The vines on the highlands of Serrières are balanced with the Syrah on the granite slopes of Saint Désirat. The latter are marked by maturity and beautiful southwest exposure. This vintage of Rhône Valley wines is a delight to share in its early youth. Intense and rustic nose, gourmet chews are the ingredients of success. In terms of food and wine pairings for tasting, choose a nice piece of red meat from the butcher.
The Emisphere Rouge is a red wine full of finesse. It combines structure and characteristic flavour, appétizing fruits (blackcurrant, blackberry) with spice notes in the early years. Wine with an elegant structure, it can be drank young. It will start to grow from the fifth year and it can be kept to 10 years, even more with certain vintages.
