The Boissonnet Domain is a family tradition which goes back to the XVII century. The estate is home to 11 hectares of vineyards, created with love to offer fresh-flavoured St-Joseph and Condrieu.
Following the path of his grandfather, Frédéric Boissonnet takes back the family domain in 1990 and continues to build its legacy today. The XVII century estate hides a vault, discovered by chance in 1993 by his father, André Boissonnet. This well kept secret is also used today to raise the grapes in the respect of tradition.
The Boissonnet Domain perpetuates the family tradition started in the XVII century within its wine cellars. With great care, craftsmanship and a longing for quality, Frédéric Boissonnet re-launched the family activity and pays tribute to his ancestors with the cuvée Bélive.
From the old vines cultivated by grandfather Boissonnet, the locality 'Belive' has since given its name to a Saint Joseph cuvée of high acrobatics.
When looking at the landscapes between Vienne and Tain l'Hermitage, the steep slopes rivers can be seen flowing through the suspended vineyards.
A perfect harmony between water, land and sky creates the uniqueness of the region's wines. Frédéric strives to cultivate the best grapes. As he simply says : « Without good grapes, you can't make good wines ».
The red Saint Joseph is entirely made from Syrah vines, the best known variety in the region. The Syrah, rich by its quality in terms of taste and freshness, contributes to the reputation of its wines.
The Boissonnet Domain also cultivates Roussanne and Marsanne vines to produce its white Saint Joseph, giving this elegant wine the perfect equilibrium between fruity and fresh.
Finally, the Condrieu, a world-known wine made from Viognier, distinguishes itself by its sumptuousness, its mineral qualities and its large palette of fruity flavours.
The Domaine Boissonnet Saint Joseph Emisphere Blanc 2018 represents barely 5% of the wines available throughout the appellation. With regard to red wines made from Syrah, the majority. All the more reason to discover Boissonnet's Emisphère en blanc cuvée. Pleasure and greed are at the rendezvous of the tasting for this beautiful white wine between aromatic fruity and floral. Mineral and fresh, the mouth is a model of balance. A beautiful cuvée of white “St Jo” to taste with cheeses from the region (Picodon, Saint Marcellin). Or accompanied by a baked fish. To be served relatively cool between 8 and 10 degrees to ensure tasting in the best conditions!
The white “Emisphère” cuvée from Boissonnet is made up of 80% Marsanne and 20% Roussanne. Fresh fruit (pear), white flower (jasmine) and dried fruit (almond) await you for a delicious tasting.
A fine nose which combines, by small touches, honey, lemon, dried flowers and dred fruits. Powerful and fresh in the mouth, it will delight you in its youth. It will smoothly awake your taste buds thanks to the Marsanne freshness. Its association with the Roussanne allows this wine to bring out the elegance and the complexity of the great Saint Joseph Blanc.
