We hit the restart button on our Cariñena. Up until 2017 we had been sourcing our Cariñena from a single vineyard in the eponymous village. The owner died in ’17 and his son chose rather to sell all the grapes of all of his vineyards to one of the massive co-ops rather than bother with multiple contracts. So for 2018 we were at a loss? What to do? Then, in 2019 we found an amazing terroir at high altitude and with wonderful, expressive Cariñena vineyards. We were back in business. The 2019 marks a shift in direction, it’s like a muscular dancer, it’s delicate and precise while at the same time, bold and structured. Let’s dance!
Fragrant nose of lavender, cherries, plums, cassis, licorice and coconut. It’s medium to full-bodied with fine tannins. Silky. Bright acidity and juicy, vibrant character. Fresh. Long finish.
