Bethany First Village Barossa Chardonnay 2021

WINE TYPE: White

BOTTLE SIZE: 750 ml

Sommelier's Notes

The fruit is sourced from the Schrapel family vineyards in the Barossa Valley on the slopes of the Barossa Ranges, and neighbouring vineyards in Eden Valley. The cooler climate of the Eden Valley allows fruit to experience longer ripening periods which is perfect for flavour accumulation and intensity. The Barossa Valley fruit offers subtle weight and a complexity of flavours to the palate structure.

With fruit from Barossa Valley and Eden Valley, this Chardonnay is beautifully balanced with crisp orchard and citrus fruits being complemented by white florals and fine acidity. Lees stirring and new French oak have added savoury complexity and texture to this wine.

Night picked, destemmed and pressed to stainless steel and 20% new French oak for cool fermentation of 10-14 days. Lees stirring for approx. 2 months post ferment before being allowed to settle naturally and continue to gain weight and freshness through contact with the lees. Stabilised in December 2018 before being filtered and bottled in January 2019.

Alcohol Level : 12.5%

Culinary Recommendation: To serve 12 C - 14 C. Good match with antipasto, seafood in a cream sauce or soft cheeses.
