‘Deano’ Sangiovese is named after Winemaker Leigh’s late father John Dean (fondly known as Deano), who helped plant the Sangiovese Vines in Clare in 1993.
This Italian grape has been blended with varying percentages of Cabernet to produce a superb Tuscan style wine. The colour exhibits deep cherry with crimson hues and the bouquet has lifted glace cherry with slight savoury and soft French oak characters. The palate shows sweet light berry fruits, with good length and depth of flavour, enhanced by soft spicy oak and fine grain tannins.
Fermented in open stainless steel fermenters then pressed and matured in new and older French oak for 2 years. Cellaring potential of up to 5 years.
