YEAR OF VINTAGE

WINE TYPE: Red

Sommelier's Notes

This wine is 100% Sangiovese with the typical ruby red colour that is distinctive of the region. The bouquet reveals inviting notes of mature red fruits such as strawberry and raspberry, with sweet spices with a hint of thyme. On the palate, the wine is delicate and juicy with a smooth, long lingering finish. Excellent as an aperitivo or antipasti.

Winery: Avignonesi

The winery is named after the Avignonesi family, the founders of the original estate. Constant research and development aimed

at expressing the true character of the Montepulciano terroir has, over time, earned the winery a well-deserved place among the flagship producers of Tuscany.

In 2009, Avignonesi was acquired by Virginie Saverys who has since introduced organic and biodynamic farming methods to craft distinct, genuine wines with even stronger character and has acquired additional vineyards and a state-of-the-art winemaking facility in the Montepulciano appellation.

General Aging: Drink now or cellar for a couple of years.

Culinary Recommendation: To serve at 16 - 18 C. Good match with BBQ-marinated pork ribs, beef and vegetable skewers or T bone steaks.
