A blend of 80% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon.
This velvety, full-bodied wine is produced from the clay terroir that lends structure to Château Haut Chatain and is aged in oak barrels for 12 months.
The power of the Merlot in this wine is palpable. It is not a shy wine, instead packed with black fruits and solid, rich tannins. The wine has concentration and power, just spoiled by the bite of alcohol at the end. Drink from 2022. — Roger Voss
