Bethany Wines continues to maintain a proud tradition of producing Barossa Valley Semillon. Picked early to retain bright citrus fruit this wine is refreshing and delightful with fresh green apples and pears, lemon and strong line of juicy acidity carrying it through.
Bright citrus and white floral flavours are to the fore on a tightly wound core of juicy acidity and lemon meringue complexity. Great length finishing with a clean crisp orchard fruit note.
Night picked, de-stemmed and pressed to stainless steel for a cool ferment of 10-14 days. Minimal lees stirring before being stabilised and transferred to stainless steel for maturation and development. Solid winter and spring rainfall followed by a warm and dry January and February led to a balanced vintage with good fruit intensity and structure. The moments of heat were short and dispersed and arrived after the majority of the whites were harvested leading to good natural acidity and balance.
