The wines produced at Château Belles-Graves are a reflection of the earth which yields them and of the landscape from which the vines grow. The estate, perfectly located on a hill overlooking Pomerol and Saint Émilion, is home to old Merlot and Cabernet Franc vines. In its youth, this cuvée gives a glimpse of things to come with aromas of sous-bois, wet soil, graphite, and cherry.
Deeply-coloured. Concentrated nose of black berry fruits (sloe, black cherry) with faint toast in the background. Concentrated, generous, powerful palate. The tannic framework is quite firm. A virile wine that will undoubtedly melt.
The great wine is produced by the old vines of the estate (average age 40 years), with a blend of 88% Merlot grape and 12% Cabernet Franc grape. It is aged for 12 months in oak barrels.
A remarkable dense and full-bodied wine with fruity and spicy notes that presents a very good balance between the characteristic structure of the terroir with melted tannins, comes with a rich, complex and very fleshy and fine aromatic palette with good length.
Pair with beautiful piece of beef with character, well matured seared on the grill, venison stew, or a beautiful plate of matured cheeses.
