Sommelier's Notes

Three Exceptional Cask Finishes, One Refined Speyside Whisky

The Glenlivet 21 Year Old represents over two decades of maturation, elevated by an intricate triple-cask finishing process.

Created as part of The Sample Room Collection, this distinguished single malt combines the rich dried-fruit character of Oloroso Sherry casks, the elegant spice of French Tronçais oak Cognac casks, and the luscious fruit complexity of Vintage Colheita Port casks.

The result is a beautifully layered whisky that preserves The Glenlivet's signature smooth, fruity character while introducing remarkable depth, warmth and sophistication.

An excellent choice for whisky enthusiasts who appreciate refinement over excessive oak intensity.

The interplay of dried fruits, caramelised pears, chocolate and gentle spice creates an approachable yet sophisticated drinking experience.

Its 21-year maturation and distinctive triple-cask finishing make it especially appealing as a premium gift or a memorable after-dinner whisky.

Allow the whisky to rest in the glass for several minutes before tasting. Begin neat to appreciate its full complexity, then experiment with a few drops of water to explore additional aromas.

These accolades recognise the whisky's quality and craftsmanship.

"This expression is reputed to contain some whisky up to 40 years old and was matured in a mix of bourbon and sherry casks.

The nose offers overt sherry influences, with fruit malt loaf, maple syrup, honey, and old leather.

Full and slightly oily on the rich palate, with toffee, raisins, Brazil nuts, and fresh cake mix. Dusty spices and oak in the relatively dry finish."
