What distinguishes the white wines from the Grand Cru vineyards of Montagne de Corton is the incredible balance of fat, weight and rich fruit, with lean minerality and that typical flinty character. The Poulleau parcel is just 0.0598 hectares of 60+ year-old vines, cared for assiduously by Florence and Thierry. The wine spends a year in 100% new French oak and its amber colour is both indicative and deceptive; it is delicate yet deeply concentrated, with fig, bruised apple, and dried peach alongside digestive biscuit, vanilla, baked cereal and freshly grated ginger. This is a wine of remarkable character and presence. For the full experience, try after 15 years in-bottle.
Pure Grand Cru quality with weight, structure, concentration and finesse. Remarkable depth and definition; balletic, suggesting true greatness to come.
