Since 1960, the history of Château Lafon-Rochet has been linked to the Tesseron family, which manages this famous 4th Classified Growth in the yellow label with humor, passion and ambition. Michel Tesseron, relayed by his son Basile since 2007, has made this property a rising star of the appellation, despite the shadow of its illustrious neighbors the Château Lafite & Cos d’Estournel. Recently defined by Jane Anson (Decanter) as the “Bordeaux 1855 having made the most progress”, Château Lafon Rochet has not finished climbing the peaks. The young team composed of Basile Tesseron accompanied by Lucas Leclerq (Technical Director), represents the new generation of winegrowers Bordeaux. Les Pelerins de Lafon Rochet is the second wine of the property.
At the tasting, Les Pelerins de Lafon-Rochet, the Château’s second wine, expresses perfectly the desire of the Tesseron family to offer a pleasant, accessible wine, ideal for introducing the wine lover to this great Saint-Estèphe.
Wine beautiful purple color. Slim and spicy aroma of the wine reveals notes of black cherry and currant nuances of tobacco leaf. The wine has an elegant taste with a wonderful balance and ripe tannins. Long pleasant finish emphasizes the originality of this wine.
