Sommelier's Notes

Since 1870 the Dorneau family has been growing vines on their land in the commune of Fronsac. Certain of the forthcoming success of the Fronsac AOC, Mme Viaud bought plots of land to create the Châteaux La Croix. After almost 2 centuries of evolution, the Dorneau vineyard produces wines in the Fronsac, Canon-Fronsac, Bordeaux and Bordeaux Clairet appellations. The estate's wines have received high marks from the Guide Hachette for its 2016 and 2012 vintages. The estate's wines are certified HVE.

Patrick is a winegrower who is very committed to the defence and protection of his appellations, he has in fact joined the ODG which is the organisation for the defence and management of the appellations. He is Vice President of this association. Patrick and his wife have decided to create a truffle farm on the estate and participate in the organisation of the Truffle Market in Gironde. The estate offers visits and tastings throughout the year by appointment.
