Sommelier's Notes

Château de Cazenove is located in the famous Margaux appellation.  The grapes for this Réserve Pradines, are grown in a vineyard with a very special location and soilwith an area of 12 hectares located in the heart of the Margaux region, between the famous castles of the region Château Siran, Château Dauzac (5th Growth) and the Gironde river.

The estate is run by the family de Cazenove, who lovingly create this elegant red wine.  The vineyard is comprised of Merlot (75%), Cabernet Sauvignon (20%) and Cabernet Franc (5%).

Louis de Cazenove ultimately creates an elegant wine, both concentrated and structured, by harnessing Nature’s gifts: his approach to enhance grapes aroma and maturity, minimally process grapes during vinification flourish while tasting the “Cazenove” and the “Family Reserve”

Château de Cazenove - Réserve Pradines is rated by wine expert Robert Parker as an excellent bottle of Bordeaux Superieur.

This wine is made using the traditions of Bordeaux passed down by successive generations and is named the Reserve Pradines blend, in tribute to this legacy.  The Reserve Pradines is aged 14 months in oak barrels.

On the nose the wine has intense raspberry aromas with subtle hints of cinnamon and flavour assault of black cherries, blackberries and a touch of vanilla. Medium-bodied with a lush and elegant mouthfeel. Finishes with a silky coating on the teeth, a little tannin on the tongue, and the taste of black cherries and cigar box.

On the palate the deep raspberry fruit is driven by fine tannins that create a gorgeous structure, balanced by a fresh acidity and a long after taste.
