Sommelier's Notes

Château Ségur de Cabanac is located in the Saint-Estèphe appellation, on a gravelly ridge overlooking the estuary of the Gironde. Moreover, the vineyard conducted a sustainable agriculture. This geographical location gives its red wines an authentic character of the region.

The Ségur family is at the origin of the estate. At first, Count Joseph Marie de Segur fixed the boundaries delimiting the plots of what was to become the Segur de Cabanac estate.

Then, in 1985, Guy Delon, from a family with 6 generations of winemakers, took over the property. He renovated it and gave it a new lease of life in wine production.

The vines of Château Ségur de Cabanac consist of 12 plots located on the best hills of the Saint-Estèphe appellation, facing the Gironde and adjoin the greatest vintages of the town such as Calon, Phélan ... Some of these plots were the property of Count Joseph-Marie de Ségur, Lord of Cabanac, who was nicknamed "the Prince of the vines" and had fixed, to delimit his properties, boundaries which bear the name of Ségur de Cabanac and are still visible. In 1985, Guy Delon, himself from a long line of Médoc winegrowers, already owner of Château Moulin de la Rose in Saint-Julien de Beychevelle, took over, renovated and reconstituted the operation.

A beautiful dark and deep color, tending to garnet. A very characteristic nose of the estate, with aromas of spices and red and black fruits. On the palate, smoothness, finesse, power !
