The 2016 harvest of Château Gazin was marked by serenity. Thanks to the good weather, the harvest was spread over a long period of time, which allowed the grapes to reach their full maturity.
Château Gazin 2016 is made from 87% Merlot, 8% Cabernet Franc and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon, all harvested with perfect ripeness.
This Gazin 2016 vintage is dressed in a deep and intense colour.
On the nose, it distils a more powerful bouquet than usual. And more fruity too, with aromas of red and black fruits, blackcurrant, cherry and blackberry mixed with well-defined floral notes. It's a very fresh nose.
On the palate, Gazin 2016 appeals by offering a high density. Medium-bodied, Château Gazin 2016 is a very elegant wine, with a sweet attack and a rectilinear tannic structure followed by an abundance of black fruit subtly enhanced by spicy and peppery notes.
The finish reveals a hint of finely wooded cloves thanks to a maturing process in 50% new oak.
Château Gazin 2016 is undoubtedly one of the best Pomerol wines of the 2016 vintage!
