WINE TYPE: Red
A superb estate located south of the prestigious Margaux appellation on the Left Bank in the Bordeaux region, the Château Siran is distinguished by the unique personality of its fine wines. The spicy bouquet with perfume of dried roses is the signature style of Château Siran that demonstrates the typical finesse of a fine Margaux.
Under the direction of Edouard Miailhe (and it is interesting to note that Château Siran has belonged to the same family for more than 150 years), Château Siran has experienced a new momentum and the estate today produces must-have wines from the Margaux appellation.
With a 25-hectare vineyard planted on deep Garonne soils, Château Siran benefits from an exceptional terroir that is decisive in making great wines.
“The 2014 vintage is the fruit of an Indian summer."
From the end of August, sun, light and heat settled in permanently, constituting the longest, hottest and driest Indian summer for 100 years! Maturation took place in exceptional conditions, the plots were picked without any particular stress, depending on the full maturity. The Merlot grapes, at their peak at the end of September, express suppleness, aromatic richness and unctuousness. The Petit Verdots, with their very colourful juices, follow closely and keep a great aromatic freshness. Finally, the
Cabernets are concentrated with an ideal balance between aromas and power.
