An elegant Auxey-Duresses dominated by floral and red fruit aromas. The grapes were fully destemmed before crushing and fermenting.
The vineyard, Climat du Val, is a Premier Cru, .64 hectare holding that was planted in 1970.
Fifty-year-old Pinot Noir vines make for an excellent wine that can age for a good decade but drinks wonderfully after a decanting today.
The nose is fruity, elegant and generous. On the palate, this wine expresses notes of raspberry, cherry and plum associated with fine notes of fresh red berries as well as discreet hints of liquorice, toasted oak and tobacco. The tannins are fine, young and slightly dry. Presence of a very discreet hint of cocoa and retro coffee.
Ageing potential: This wine can age between 7 and 10 years.
Culinary Recommendation: To serve at 14-16° C. Good match with Roasts, Grilled Meat, Rabbit, Cheese
