Vignobles Vellas, a family story that began in 1929, 4 generations ago, in the heart of the Languedoc, in the South of France.
The slogan is to strive for excellence, authenticity and innovation.
Making exceptional wines that release real emotions, bringing out a unique terroir through each of the vintages.
They have always had a close relationship with agriculture, with over 1000 hectares of cereals, pastures and olive groves, 1200 bulls and Camargue horses, and vineyards.
Located in the communes of Teyran and Le Crès, close to Montpellier, between the Pic St Loup and the Mediterranean Sea, the main family estate, the Mas du Pont vineyard in Languedoc region, is the center of our activities, a place for culture, tradition, sharing and events around vines, wine, gastronomy and bulls.
Nicolas Vellas has given a new vision and a new impetus to this fine family business, which has grown from an initial 13 hectares of vines to 350 hectares today.
The noble drink is created on the basis of a blend that includes three different grape varieties.
Selected berries of Syrah, Grenache and Monastrelle are carefully grown in the soils of the famous wine region of France - Languedoc-Roussillon.
They are carefully collected at the period of optimal ripeness and, after careful sorting and destemming, they are sent for long maceration.
It is carried out in stainless steel tanks under strict temperature control.
After this, the wine is subjected to ten days of alcoholic fermentation with regular breaking of the head and stirring of the wine.
At the end of this process, part of the drink is sent for aging in barrels made of noble oak wood, which takes at least 15 months.
In order to fully appreciate the excellent tasting characteristics of the resulting wine, it is recommended to serve it chilled: at a temperature of about 16-18 C.
To maximize the bouquet, it is advisable to uncork the bottle in advance - no later than a quarter of an hour before serving.
